'Empathy' Headpiece (2005)

This headpiece was designed for and used in Capacitor's "Digging in the Dark." It is illuminated on each side by a ring of six RGB leds located under a small funnel inside the large funnel. A custom designed RGB LED controller unit is mounted in a pod on the back of the headpiece. Sensors in the controller detect when the head is tilted and the side that is tilted begins to flash red in a heartbeat rhythm.Custom color patterns and the heartbeat rhythm complement stage lighting effects and the musical score.
